According to a recent article from the Post and Courier, South Carolina's tourism industry is expected to continue to thrive this year. Tourism now provides an $18 billion boost to the state's economy, and with lower gas prices and improving economic conditions all over the country, the industry is expected to set records yet again this year.

Have you ever thought, though, that maybe it's time to quit being a tourist and start being a resident? Charleston SC beaches are a major area draw and a condo on the beach makes a perfect permanent home or second home. There are a number of locations offering splendid real estate just a stone's throw from the relaxation of the beach and close to entertainment and dining options as well. Some of the locations that are definitely worth considering include Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, or Folly Beach. If a bit more seclusion is your style, Wild Dunes -- located within in Isle of Palms -- is one of Charleston's most private areas, complete with beaches not normally visited by tourists. Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, and Edisto Beach are just a short drive south of Charleston and complete with creeks and river marshes, they are also a good option if you value your privacy.

Stephanie Wilson-Hartzog has been selling real estate in the area for more than 10 years now and is one of the top producing real estate agents in the area. She is also a Charleston native and has an extensive knowledge of the city. If you're ready to begin looking for your beach condo in the Charleston area, contact us today.
