Summerville, SC is also known as the Flowertown in the Pines. Summerville was originally settled by people from Charleston and the Ashley River Plantations to escape the summer heat and mosquitoes. The village became an actual town in 1847 and started enacting laws to prohibit trees from being cut down. Summerville did receive extensive destruction from the Earthquake of 1886. Summerville is home to the annual Flowertown Festival. Summerville is also home to The Green Wave and Coach John McKissick the most winning football coach in history.
Stephanie's Grandparent's settled in Summerville in the 1950's and she loves to show people around the town she grew up in and has watched changed and grow so much over the past 30 years.
